Closest focus is 56cm from
outermost
edge of the lens, F 8; it's not really close. Focus on
the program wheel of the camera.
This lens is very small
and very lightweight. Wide open, it has
some
softness towards the edges. Carefully aligned there is no distortion.
It's a wonderful walk-around lens if you prefer wider angles. At F 8 it's nice,
focussing is very easy because of the wide depth-of-the-field range, at F 22 however it's blurred
due to diffraction. This is a problem of the APS-C sensor size, not the
lens (see comparison page). It
produces nice wide
images with a nostalgic
image impression. I like it quite well.
